San Francisco 49er's Keena Turner Autographed 1989 Pro Set Football Card

I have been a 49er fan ever since that time I watched Joe Montana throw a touchdown pass to Dwight Clark in the back of the end zone during the final minute of the 1982 NFC Championship Game, in what would be forever known as “The Catch”.  That was the first football game I can ever remember watching on television. I’ll admit I didn’t know much of what was going on at the time but I do remember my uncles jumping up and down and yelling in celebration, partly because they probably won a bet. From that moment on, though, I’ve rooted for the 49ers even when they sucked (and boy did they suck big-time) throughout the majority of the 2000s.

Though after a decade of suck, they did finally manage to bring back some hope last year and I got a feeling they are going to be one of the best teams in the NFL again this year. After all, who’s got it better than us? Nobody!

Well, for the 49er fans who remember the good old days of 1980s, this is a 1989 Pro Set Football Card autographed by San Francisco 49er Keena Turner.

Drafted in the 2nd round of the 1980 NFL Draft by the Miami Dolphins, Keena Turner was traded on that same day to the San Francisco 49ers where he would go on to help the team capture 4 Super Bowl titles during a 11 year NFL career. This former Pro Bowl linebacker now serves as the 49ers’ Vice President of Football Affairs.

Phoebes Cates Autographed 1984 Topps Gremlins Movie Trading Card #81

All they had to do was follow 3 simple rules:

1) Keep him out of the light.
2) Keep him away from water, don’t get him wet.
3) Never, never feed him after midnight.

Was that really so hard to follow? Apparently it was and as a result little green monsters ran amok through the small unsuspecting town of Kingston Falls, New York.

Ok, I’ll give Billy Peltzer a break in regards to the 3rd rule, after all he was tricked. Come to think of it now the 3rd rule is also a little vague; what exactly constitutes as "after midnight"? Could you start feeding Mogwai again in say 2 or 6 hours after the stroke of 12? Or should you even continue to feed them at all after their first day being born, or in their case sprouted, since every minute from their first midnight on would technically be "after midnight"?  I'm guessing if you did decide to feed them it would be best to wait until the sun is up. Now, then would it have really been wise to feed Spike and the others with only 25 minutes till midnight? Considering that in modern society time is is dependent on the time zone you live in and depending on where you live in that time zone, time may not be all that accurate in relation to the position of the sun and stars above you. So, it may not have been a wise decision for Billy to feed them regardless of whether he had been deceived or not. With that I take back which I had previously said; Billy Peltzer you were not ready for the Mogwai.

Ok, enough with the speculation from the geek gallery. Whatever the case may be apparently it didn't mater much to me as a child, as the Gremlins turned out to be one of my favorite movies. After having watched the film I soon had toy figures of Gizmo and Spike, Gremlin sticker albums, and even Gremlin trading cards, though I am not sure where they are all now. The one item I do have now, however, was purchased long after the movie was first released in the theaters. This is a 1984 Topps Gremlins movie trading card, #81, featuring the two young co-stars of the film, Zach Galligan and Phoebe Cates, that has been autographed by the lovely Phoebe Cates.

The card was originally purchased from the Hunter's Vault in Carmel, Indiana. I no longer have the original receipt of purchase for the Hunter’s Vault guarantee, though I am not sure it would make a difference as I cannot confirm that the Hunter's Vault is currently in business. This item, however, is still a niece piece of memorabilia to have for fans of both Gremlins and Phoebe Cates.

Boris Vallejo started painting at the age of 13 and by the age of 16 he started to get paid for it. During the second run in the production of the trading card series they produced an extremely rare chase card featuring the piece titled Diving which was autographed by Boris Vallejo himself.

Parts of the edges have started to flake and I am unsure why, however, I have noticed this as a trend among certain cards that I have produced by Comic Images.

If you are interested in this item featuring the work and autograph of one of the best fantasy painters of our time, Boris Vallejo, you can find it on… Will be posting soon.

Julie McCullough Autographed 1992 Playboy Trading Card by Star Pics

On September 24, 1985 the first episode of Growing Pains aired featuring the quirky day-to-day predicaments of an idealistic wholesome family unit of like no other since the Brady Bunch. Kirk Cameron who played Mike Seaver quickly grew to become the star of the show and literally a growing pain for the cast and crew, especially for that of actress Julie McCullough. Julie Costello played by Julie McCullough first appeared on the show as Chrissy’s nanny and quickly became a regular character on the show found her way into the heart of Mike Seaver as his girlfriend and fiancée. However, in real life the relationship of the two co-stars was quite the opposite. It is widely believed that Kirk Cameron called for the firing of Julie McCullough due to her previously posing nude for Playboy.

Damn you Kirk! Julie was the best thing to happen to that show and you ruined it for all the young boys across the country! Sorry I digress.

Though Julie McCullough would go on to appear in several more television shows and movies, it would appear that the controversy surrounding her firing from Growing Pains had a profound effect on the potential prospect of her acting career. She has yet to reconcile her differences with Kirk Cameron to this day.

Well, for all those who have ever wondered what another 2 years of Julie Costello on Growing Pains would have been like here is a Julie McCullough Autographed 1992 Playboy trading card by Star Pics.

This a very rare autographed chase card by Star Pics for their 1992 Playboy trading card series featuring the alluring Julie McCullough who has been featured on the covers of Playboy in February 1985 for their Girls of Texas pictorial and in September 1986 for their Farmer’s Daughters pictorial. She was also Playmate of the Month for February of 1986.

Julie McCullough has had a varied career over the years as a model, actress, and stand-up comedian. Some of the more notable television shows she has played a role in throughout her career include Beverly Hills, 90210, Drexell’s Class, Growing Pains, Harry and the Hendersons, Jake and the Fatman, Relic Hunter, and The Drew Carey Show. Though she continues to work as an actress, she has more recently moved on to doing stand-up comedy and has performed at several venues including the Hollywood Improv, the Palms hotel and Casino, and the Laugh Factory.

For those of you wondering if there could possibly be any comic book related tie-in to be found here, she just so happens to also play the role of romantic interest for the most recognizable superhero of all time, Superman, in the 1988 episode of The Adventures of Superboy: A Kind of Princess.

If you are interested in this autographed card of Julie McCullough you can find it for sale on eBay by clicking here.

1998 Star Trek The Original Series Season 2 Barbara Bouchet (Kelinda) Autographed Trading Card

It may be difficult to imagine now but the Priceline Negotiator use to play a role as one of sci-fi’s most popular Don Jaun’s. The interstellar Casa Nova known as Captain James T. Kirk of the Starship Enterprise has managed to charm just about every female across the galaxy. From green skinned dancers to robots and even shape shifting cats, Captain Kirk held no inhibitions when it came to the ladies.

Though Captain Kirk definitely had plenty of ladies in his life one of his most memorable conquests had to be of a shape shifting alien who happen to take the form of a very attractive human female by the name of Kelinda in the Star Trek episode “By Any Other Name”. After all, his ability to seduce this previously emotionless being is what essentially saved the day.

Now, what I have here is a rare autographed 1998 Star Trek The Original Series: Season 2 trading card by SkyBox featuring actress Barbara Bouchet as Kelinda.

Barbara Bouchet is a well-known actress who has played several roles in film and television such as Miss Moneypenny in Casino Royale, Patrizia in Non si sevizia un paperino, and Mrs. Schermerhorn in Martin Scorsese's Gangs of New York.

1998 Autographed A-2 Lacey Chabert Lost in Space Movie Trading Card by Inkworks

“Danger, Will Robinson!” is a catch phrased that has been engraved in to the minds of many a sci-fi geek all because of a 1960’s hit television show known as Lost in Space.  In 1998 people at New Line Cinema sought to insure this catch phrase be passed on to future generations by remaking the 1960 television show in to a full length motion picture. Once again another generation was introduced to the adventurous Robinson family of 5, the dashing and heroic Major Don West, the suspicious Dr. Zachary Smith, and of course the infamous B-9 robot that has us hanging off his every word. Though, the 1998 movie did not earn enough to warrant a sequel it was a box office hit and it has lived up to serving its purpose, for now.

“Warning! Warning!” “Danger, Will Robinsion!” “That does not compute!”

Whether you are fan of Lost in Space or just a fan of the actress who played Penny Robinson in the 1998 movie, Lacey Chabert, here is something you might be interested in.

A limited edition 1998 Autographed Lacey Chabert Lost in Space Movie Trading Card by Inkworks.

Updated the pics.

At the time the movie was produced Lacey Chabert was popular for her role as one of the main cast members in the television show Party of Five.  Since that time she has appeared in several other movies and television shows. She has also lent her voice to several popular animated characters such as Eliza Thornberry of The Wild Thornberrys, Meg Griffin of Family Guy, Gwen Stacey of the animated series The Spectacular Spider-Man, Zatanna of Young Justice, and Mako of the MMO Star Wars: The old Republic.

1994 Sealed Box of Keith Parkinson Fantasy Art Trading Cards

Keith Parkinson is an amazing fantasy artist. He has done artwork for TSR’s Dungeons & Dragons, book covers for Dragonlance, Forgotten Realms and Gamma World, as well as promotional artwork for the highly popular MMO Everquest. Even if you don’t know his name but you are a fan of the fantasy genre you still might know his work.

Unfortunately, Keith Parkinson passed away in 2005 due to Acute Myelogenous Leukemia.

However, what I have here is some of his artwork for sell in an unopened box of 1994 Keith Parkinson Fantasy Art Trading Cards.

The box contains 36 individual packs and each pack contains 10 trading cards with a chance of containing a special “Metallic Storm” chase card or a limited inserted autographed card. There is also a very rare chance to win an “instant-win” card for an original Keith Parkinson drawing. However, I am not sure if the instant-win card would still be redeemable at this time.

About

I've been a huge comic nerd for a long time. It was my dad who first introduced me to comics when I was very young. He gave me his small collection of comics at the time and ever since then I’ve continued to add to it. Over the years I have collected hundreds of comics, toy figures, and other memorabilia. And though I would really love to hang on to them, due to unfortunate circumstances I have to let them go. *sigh* So, the purpose of this blog will be mainly to showcase what I have up for sale on eBay. Most of the items will be comic related memorabilia but I also have a few other “types” of collectables that I hope to be getting rid of as well. And every once in a while in between the post of what I have for sell I may just post some of the crazy ideas that pop-up in my head which of course you can simply choose to ignore. Thanks for stopping by.
